"I Was Angry With God"
(Continued from home page)
Devastated by her mother’s death, Bethany tried to numb the pain of her loss. "I became dependent on men who struggled with drugs and alcohol. I started using drugs. They numbed the pain, and that felt good to me."
"I totally believed God could heal her..."
Addicted to cocaine, Bethany's life began to fall apart. Desperate to save her, her father and step-mother searched for a Christian recovery program for women and found Memphis Union Mission's Moriah House.
"I didn't know what to expect, but I didn't want to keep going down the same road. I knew God had something better.
I had my own business, a car and a place to live, but I knew I would lose it all if I didn't get myself together."
Through her time at Moriah House, Bethany has restored her relationship with the Lord. "The people in this community who come here to volunteer have a love for Moriah House. They are awesome. It's amazing how they give of themselves. It means a lot." Bethany has done well since graduating from the program this spring. She recently moved back to Kentucky to be with her family.
